About Ashley
Ashley Reid (she/her) completed her ​Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI and holds a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Japanese. Her diverse work, education, and training experiences have provided her the opportunity to work with female and male adolescents and adults in individual therapeutic settings. She believes that counseling provides a safe place for healing to occur. Everyone can benefit from a private spot to sort out conflicting feelings, difficult life circumstances and relationship problems.
Treatment with Ashley
Ashley utilizes CBT, ACT, and Solution-Focused approaches in her treatment with adolescents and adults. Her therapeutic approach derives from a relational perspective and she utilizes cognitive behavioral, strengths-based, person-centered, and solutions-focused approaches in her sessions. Another aspect of her counseling approach involves assisting you in exploring personal meaning in your life and incorporating humor, when appropriate. Some of the areas in which she has special knowledge include: diversity and multiculturalism, relationship concerns/stressors/boundaries, depression, anxiety, work stress, self-care, self-worth, and career counseling.
