About Anna

Anna Rakos (she/her) completed her Masters of Social Work degree at Baylor University in Waco, TX, and holds a B.A. in Philosophy with a Minor in Computer Science from Hope College in Holland, MI. Anna’s love for social work is rooted in her passion for serving others and pursuing social justice. She has experience providing a variety of mental health services to a diverse range of individuals in hospitals, schools, clinics, and inpatient settings.

 

While Anna enjoys working with individuals of all ages, she greatly enjoys working with adolescents and young adults. Her clinical interests include, but are not limited to the following: anxiety, depression, life transitions, coping skills, relational difficulties, multicultural issues, and religious/philosophical/spiritual concerns. Anna has a particular passion for working with LGBTQIA+ youth who are navigating identity formation and relationships.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on many therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and the Unified Protocol (UP) in order to empower my clients to reclaim their lives. As each person is uniquely different, and no single therapeutic approach fits all, I tailor my practice to meet your specific needs and values. As a therapist, I believe in the importance of setting meaningful goals and working collaboratively to achieve them. I value the process of identifying strengths and creating actionable plans to find solutions to your problems.
